Interested in 1920's dance and jazz music, have collected records since about 1959. Met long-time collector R. E. M. Gottlieb in 1960 who began his own collection in 1925 at age 16. Had a nice 20-year association with Mr. Gottlieb till ill health forced him to begin selling his collection about three years before his death in 1986. Bought and traded many records during our association and also began a subscription to the now out of print magazine Record Research based in New York.

Especially enjoy Harry Reser banjo work, have many Six Jumping Jacks, Reser Syncopators and Clicquot Eskimos and related orchestras such as Seven Little Polar Bears, Geo. Brooks & His Syncopators, et al.

Love many of the ARC recordings, especially the ones containing beautiful Dorsey solos.

Like lively, tuneful music and the "pattern" of a 20's record with its brief introduction, movement into the main part of the song, then a final, rousing coda with a flourish at the end.
