Does anyone know if there is any research out there on restoring acoustic sound recordings by digitial means that resembles an electric recording? I know this is a quantum leap, but I let my imagination run wild for a moment when I thought how interesting it would be for a digital sound restoration program to "rebuild" and restore the quality of soundwaves lost by the peculiarities of the recording horn of those olden days. I am not an engineer, but I suspect that there would have to be a lot of mega crunching by a computer to do this task. wacko.gif
