One of my favorite things to do is loop my favorite riff in any given song. I love sound-editing software! I will be taking a class in this this Spring Semester!

Here are a few that I did and will add to it as I make more!

Hey, that's a lot of FUN!

It sounds like the background music for my life :-)
I could just keep them playing all day and pretend I'm living inside an old movie...

My favorite one is the "I Can't Believe" loop.

Well done! ...Tell us when you create more of them please...

The real sick part is that when I make these, and when I listen to them, I can loop the musical phrase around and listen to it over and over and over and over and over and over!!!...

I love the Happy feet riff! That's one of my favorites. The riff in some arr. of "Sunny Side of the Street" is an awsome sax riff also.

That's a very interesting idea - one that I had never thought of before. I wouldn't want to listen to the same passage over and over again for too long - I kind of enjoy them in the context of the overall works. But I can think of certain uses for such a technique. For example, online greeting cards which have audio with them basically do the same thing.

I personally hate ringtones for cell phones that depart very much from the plain jane ring indicators. Someone at work has one which plays the theme from the Beverly Hillbillies - and find stuff like that to be pretty obnoxious. But I guess that is also a matter of personal taste. For those who do like such ringtones, some of those riffs would sure make good ones.

Nothing compares to the original whole song! As long as I can remember, whenever I'd get a new tune in my life, I would play it over and over again until I got sick of it! Then I set it aside until I got nostalgic for it again. I still do that!

Then the recording programs came along! Now, when I torcher these songs, and wear out these riffs for hours on end, it makes me realize that the whole song whole, original song is really perfect to begin with. One musical movement sets-up the next.

A few years ago, they made a version of "Happy Feet" that had a modern beat and it sounds like they used the "Rhythm Boys" as the vocal. I think the song was a part of the soundtrack "Shakespeare in Love" (not sure). This song, with it's modern treatment, just reminded me of my original love for the original jazz!

Love,
Gregory

PS. Thanks for all the compliments! smile.gif

And there are a couple more files on my page...

Gregory,

Very clever and you've picked some perky (how about that word!) songs. Agree with Dismuke that it could get tiresome, but his idea of a home-made greeting card or adopting a short passage for a ring on a cellphone would be wild. Wonder how difficult it would be to transfer sound on computer to cellphone. Have to ask my son-in-law. Great idea, Greg! Thanks, Gart

I think they used "Happy Feet" in "The Aviator" too. That tune seems to come up often in jazz/dance band revival circles.

Here's a couple more little loops that I played with this weekend!

If you can load up one file, and select the repeat option on your player it usuallly will loop it around.

Say Matt, have you given any thought yet as to when you will be uploading some more "Sunny Clapp" recordings to The Hit Of The Week. Two just ain't enough.
