Well, my wife confirmed it when she heard the you tube video. She remembers it as more swinging 1940's.

It must have been from the other station. Sorry about that.

Thanks again for the help. I wouldn't have figured it out without the name of the song.

Correction: I meant 20 years old in 1928. Oops.

That is certainly the lyrics I recall but I thought it was a faster 20's - early 30's style. I know I heard it more than once.

It is possible that I heard it on Rat Patrol Radio (1940's), the only other music station I listen to other than old time radio shows, and only thought it was on Dismuke. I could have added the faster 20's music in my head.

After looking up the name of the song it seems it was written by Clancy Hayes "...a jazz vocalist, banjoist and guitarist born November 14, 1908 in Caney, Kansas." (from wikipedia). That would put him at 28 in 1928. I guess it is possible he could have done an early version. I couldn't find a date the song was written. I did find this:

Still not what I thought it was. I'm assuming I'm mixing it up. I liked the 20's version in my head better smile.gif

Thank you very much for the help. Let me know if there really is an older version

Hello,

I remember hearing a song several times on Radio Dismuke but I have not heard it in a long time. It had to do with a man who like "big girls". His girl was so big that when he gave her a hug he had to bring a piece of chalk to mark the way so he could find his way back. On day while giving his girl a hug he meets another man coming around the other side.

Very funny song. I would love to purchase or download it.

Thank you
