A friend of mine on another forum sent me a message asking for my help. He wants to know if I can supply him with a recording of the song "Doing the Racoon", which he says is from the 1920s.

Frankly, I have NEVER heard of that song and I know nothing about it.

What about you folks? If anyone here's heard about it, or even better, can give me a recording of it, speak up, please!!

I had already found the George Olsen one, but having the other one is even better!

Might I ask, what were the recording-dates for these pieces? I tried finding out, but wasn't able. I think the second one is 1928...

It says 1928 on my record for the song... Not sure where that info came from!

I'm hoping it's right.

Song was recorded on September 13,1928 and is on Victor record 21701. Other side is "It Goes Like This" by Johnny Johnson orch.
