hi gang

a little walk down memory lane now.......one of the best memories of collecting records brings to mind the rca vintage series
that rca put out in the 1960s.this is mostly what led me to collecting big band music in the first place.where i discovered the
coon/sanders nighthawks and whiteman plus isham jones too.they had a GREAT lp 4 isham jones and the sound quaility for
an lp was second to none.i still have it and the whiteman lps plus the coon/sanders too.boy what a great lp series they were!

Yeah, but did they add echo and reverb? That was so common with records in the '70s... did they do that in the '60s?

I discovered Coon-Sanders on their Vintage Series LP myself. Chicago DJ Franklyn MacCormack used to play it on occasion, and about the time Joe Sanders passed away, I found a copy and bought it, penciling in a notation about Sanders' death.

One great thing about a number of the Vintage Series LPs is that they often included alternate takes of tunes. The one that comes to mind is on their Jack Teagarden album where the first track is an alternate take of "She's a Great Great Girl" by Roger Wolfe Kahn's orchestra that has a better solo by T than the one on the take that was released on 78.

Only if it's convenient for you... I would prefer each track as separate named files! Hint hint.
