We would be amiss if we did not wish a Happy Birthday to 'Spirit of 78'' aka Don Chichester. For me, and I would think for many others, this gentleman was our first exposure to this music we share. A real pioneer in helping to keep alive this music via the means of radio broadcasting.

From 1980 to 1987 he produced and hosted the NPR program 'The Spirit of 78' and heard across the US. This was back before the PC/Inter-Net and I would always have my cassette in ready mode when his show came on. Many of these tapes still reside in my library.

For those that may have never heard of 'Don Chichester and 'The Spirit of 78' and for those that do remember, here's a little sample of an opening segment of a program dealing with cylinder records.

Thank you Don for all those great shows and here's wishing you a marvelous 'Happy Birthday'.

And by the way, where and how do you keep up with 30,000+ inventory of 78's - LP's - 45's? You must tell us about that sometime.

And also to our Santiago de Chile friend, Cristian1929, a Happy Birthday.
