On March 8th 1941 couples were happily dancing to the music of Ken 'Snakehips' Johnson at London's famous Cafe de Paris nightclub. Suddenly two German bombs crashed through the roof onto the dance floor, killing up to 80 people including the band leader Ken Johnson.

Here is a tribute I made to the Cafe de Paris.

Thanks. I heard that Al Bowlly was meant to sing that night at the Cafe de Paris and was wrongly reported to be among those killed. Sadly he died a few days later during another bomb attack.
