Eddie the collector states that the violinist in
There's A Rainbow Around My Shoulder All Star Orchestra 1928 (Victor 21667-A) and in She Didn't Say 'Yes,' She Didn't Say 'No' All Star Orchestra Johnny Marvin, vocal 1928 (Victor 21667-B) is Joe Venuti. I listened to the records. The violonist did not sound like Joe Venuti to me. I looked up Rust's discography and found that the violinist is Lou Raderman. In addition, Eddie states that "Benny Goodman plays good solos on this side, as well." the side being "Add A Little Wiggle." Not according to Rust. The clarinetists in this recording are given by Rust as Max Farley and Fud Livingston. Albert |

Welcome to the Board, Albert! Yes, I knew who the correct personnel were all along, just wanted to be sure people were paying attention. Just kidding! I have to stand corrected--you caught me. I've had these records so long and had always assumed them to be Venuti and Goodman I didn't even question it. The sad thing is, I have both Dance and Jazz Volumes of Rust's Discography--suppose I'll have to be more attentive to keeping the dust off of Rust's.
