I have a Crown 3463 with the Teddy Lang Orchestra playing "Two Tickets To Georgia". It's a great song, but I can find no info on Teddy Lang. I aaaume it's a pseudonym. Can anyone help?

Hi -

The Online Discographical Project suggests that the band was "J. Shaw" which would have been Joel Shaw And His Orchestra which made a LOT of recordings for Crown. Joel Shaw himself was the pianist for the Gene Kardos Orchestra and, if memory serves me correctly, it was actually, the Joel Shaw band on Crown recordings was actually the Gene Kardos Orchestra recording under Shaws name - which would make "Teddy Lang" a pseudonym of a pseudonym, something that was not uncommon at the time. Kardos recorded for Victor and if his contract with them was exclusive, he would not have been free to record under his own name elsewhere.

I have wanted that record for a long time. I am glad you have it, as it is a rare one.
